New York, Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of!

I have just returned from a week in New York where I have been filming a new show for the Food Network USA.  Some of you may know that I am a judge on a few shows there already. Spring Baking Championships and the Holiday baking Championships to name a couple pictured below. You can see me with my fellow judges Nancy Fuller and  Duff Goldman.

And here we are again

The show airs over in the UK too. We have so much fun filming this together and are all great friends! I flew over on Virgin Atlantic (currently my favourite airline) and ate way too many crisps (as per usual on the flight).

Once I have watched all of the movies, I like to play with my make-up on the plane;  I find doing makeup so relaxing! I love this Rose Gold makeup bag from next and these very natural and easy to apply lashes from Ardell, demi Wispy.  This Brilliant make up palette from Urban Decay, which matches my makeup bag! And powder from Zimbabwean makeup company Vault (based in the UK) which is truly brilliant for darker skins.

I stayed in the most beautiful hotel called The New York Edition which is one of my favourite hotels in the world. Simple colours and a very cosy bed.

The thing I like the most about the hotel are the views! My room was on the 15th floor but I got good views west and North being in a corner room.

New York by night is one of my favourite times to walk around the city. And the Empire State building still gets my heart racing every time I see it, even though I have been coming here for years. Look how beautiful it is all lit up!

I did quite a bit of shopping when, Earrings from Kate Spade, A beautiful eye shade from Urban Decay (free love) and also a couple of dresses from Club Monaco.

The hotel does the most scrumbunctious breakfasts also!

Unfortunately,  I am not allowed to show pictures regarding the new show but here’s me backstage relaxing.

It can be tough to stand on 5inch heels all day!   There are still quite a few days of filming left. I am totally loving it and cannot wait to go back and do some more. It is nice to be home with the family too, though; balance is best don’t you think? Now to get over the jet lag and get back into the kitchen. I have missed my homemade salad bowls! Big love Lorraine xxx

Dear Lorraine, I really enjoyed watching the baking championship and hope that you will continue as a judge on this programme.

You look absolutely gorgeous with the braids, rarely see you with your hair away from your face and it’s stunning. Had to do a double take to make sure I wasn’t watching ‘America’s next top model’!

Wishing you continued success in showcasing UK culinary talent in the US.
